Post WW3

In the world I see – you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You’ll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You’ll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you’ll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

Maybe this world is not so far away? Is it time to be moving to the South Island of NZ and getting yourself a little vegetable patch and fresh water tank?

Absolutely.. move to the country.. the cities are going to be hell holes in the future..

Which country could be important as well. New Zealand is a long way from many potential conflicts.

Speaking as a New Zealander I wish all you nuts would stop treating our country as your little ‘escape hole’ in case of crisis.

It was dang hard for me to get a Visa so I could live and work in the US and I don’t see as why it should be any easier for you lot to come and live here just because you’ve screwed everything up over there. (On the other hand, it is, a bit easier, I mean) so thats the good news.

During the cold war, the thing was always how we were going to defend our shores from the bands of roving lunatic pirate refugees. At least in an eco-straphe, hopefully they’ll be time to set up some proper lines and refugee camps and all that eh?

On a slightly different note, I bet you can get great hotels for bargain basement prices along the meditteranean coast right now. I’ve found out a few times (by accident, honest!) that if you want a great holiday with no (other) tourists its a great idea to go to a place thats roughly near to (when viewed on a world map) some sort of war or disaster, but actually hundreds of miles away and perfectly safe once you are actually there… why not all move to, uhm… Rhode Island (?) in the case of global economic collapse?

    Actually I’m Australian, not American.

So on a side note war zones and disasters can bring you cheaper holidays but you don’t want refugees in New Zealand?

Sounds like an ‘I’m ok stuff you’ attitude, both on the tourist and refugee front.
