From the window of our appartment, Ukmerge Lithuania May 2007. At this time of May it’s still quite chilly at times. Lithuania is westernizing at a reasonable clip, but I didn’t notice much difference in Ukmerge over the course of a year. It’s still a village.

Trakai Castle

Trakai Castle from 2006. Trakai used to be the capital of Lithuania way back when, now it’s a prime happy snap tourist destination just outside Vilnius. It’s best to visit when there aren’t bus loads of German and Polish tourists there.
